Kinsman & Associates has served as engineering consultants
for this college since the early 1990s when Paris Junior
College (PJC) was seeking state grants for energy retrofit
projects. Our engineers completed the necessary energy
audits and grant applications for submittal to the state
which resulted in a grant award to retrofit equipment
in three buildings on the PJC campus. We then designed
and monitored the construction of these projects which
included lighting upgrades, replacement of a boiler, chiller,
and cooling tower, and installation of a campus-wide energy
management system (EMS).
Since that time, Kinsman engineers have worked with PJC
to install high efficiency fan coil units in their Applied
Sciences Building, extend the campus CHW/HW loop, and
assist in the selection of a new cooling tower for the
Central Plant. Because PJC is blessed with a knowledgeable
and capable maintenance staff, we have been able to establish
a “team-effort” approach to maintain this
aging campus within a rural college’s budgetary
constraints. Toward that end, Kinsman & Associates
worked closely with administrative and maintenance personnel
to develop a long-range master plan to revitalize the
PJC facilities and extend the useful life of the campus.
This master plan identified critical and urgent maintenance
requirements as well as long-term solutions to building
and equipment upgrades.
This is another example of Kinsman &
Associates’ commitment to establishing a close working
relationship with our clients to meet engineering and
construction needs within time and dollar budgets.
