ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE:
After completing his undergraduate work and passing his Fundamentals of Engineering examination, Mr. Congdon began his professional engineering career at Kinsman & Associates. His first assignment was to develop an energy-use simulation model of a multistoried city hall. This work included matching the model to the actual utility consumption and then using this model to evaluate the cost effectiveness of various HVAC and controls options. After presenting his results to the city staff, he assisted in the recommended retrofit designs and AutoCAD drawings.
Other assignments since that time have included maintenance of K&A computer hardware and software, working under senior engineers on major MEP projects at state facilities, and participation in third-party and technical reviews of investment-grade energy and water audits submitted to the State of Texas for funding. This third-party review work has included on-site verification of proper project selections, savings calculations, pricing, and measurement and verification plans.
In 2010 Mr. Congdon passed the Certified Energy Manager examination and became an Energy Manager in Training. He also took his Graduate Records Examination and began graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering in the fall of 2011 on a part-time basis as he continues his full-time engineering work at K&A.
